COLOR FLAKES
Color flakes, flakes or chips, are flaky plastic particles that are made from a film that is randomly cut or hammered. The cutting image varies by particle. The particles are produced in solid colours. By mixing colors, multi decorative effects are obtained. The properties of thickness, size, color and composition of the color flakes are adjustable.
Flakes made from acrylate or polyvinyl acetate binder are used in the following applications:
Floor coating and casting floors
Color flakes are spread open or full in a primer and possibly finished with a topcoat. Products in which flakes are processed are Methyl methacrylate, Epoxy, Polyurethane, Acrylate, Polyurea, Polyaspartic and Poly-acrylate.
Synthetic floors with flakes are applied by professional processors and by end users (DIY). Flakes are easy to scatter in and – if desired – easy to sand and are lighter in weight than alternative particles.
Flake floor decorative
A decorative flake floor is seamless with a multi-colored effect; marble / stone imitation, mixed or special design. A flake floor is scratch and dirt resistant, easy to clean, seamless and completely liquid-tight. Flaked floors are used in schools, laboratories, offices, supermarkets, shops.
Non-slip flake floor
The scattering of flakes creates an excellent slip resistance (R9 to R13) of the floor. Non-slip floors with flake are aesthetically pleasing and easy to clean.
Glow in the dark
Glow in the dark flakes are extremely suitable for use in escape route floors (light intensity 45.3 mcd / m2 after 30 minutes) and have a long-lasting afterglow effect (light intensity 8.2 mcd / m2 after 120 minutes). Glow in the dark flakes are mixed with normal flakes and are suitable for any application.
Floor coating waterproof
By adding color flakes a flexible, waterproof, decorative finish to a floor is realized with a good anti-slip value (R9 to R13). The flakes are sprinkled directly into the waterproofing membrane. The floor coating is often used in the finishing of balconies, terraces, walkways and roofs.
TABLE AND KITCHEN TOPS
Color flakes are used to create marble and granite effects in polyester cover plates. The color flakes are sprinkled in a wet adhesive layer and finished with a polyester top layer.
COOLROOF
White color flakes are industrially sprinkled in bitumen roofing. The structure of the color flakes contributes substantially to the absorption of heat and the reflection of ultraviolet radiation from the roof covering, with a beneficial effect on the interior temperature of the object.
Specifically in a warm climate, the use of cooling systems is saved by applying coolroof roofing.
DECORATIVE PAINT SYSTEMS
Color flakes provide a multi-colored or tone-on-tone effect and are used in various paint systems – both interior and exterior. Paint products with flakes can be applied by roller, trowel, brush and / or spray systems.
CEILING TILES
Ceiling tiles are industrially provided with an adhesive layer in which the flakes are mechanically sprinkled. Flakes give a 3-dimensional effect to the tiles and contribute to improving the acoustics.
LINOLEUM CARPETING
Color flakes are used in linoleum floor covering. During the production process, color flakes are mixed in a mixture of wood flour, resin and dyes. The flakes are extremely mechanically resistant and retain shape and size during the process.
ASPHALT AND CONCRETE
Color flakes are sprinkled in asphalt concrete. The flakes are UV resistant and suitable for outdoor applications.
PVC COLOR FLAKES
Color flakes are obtained by cutting a PVC film. PVC flakes can be mixed with each other to create special effects. The properties of thickness, size, color (including metallic, pearlescent and transparent) and composition of the color flakes are adjustable. PVC flakes are colored through and through and may contain glitter. PVC color flakes are Phthalates-free.
Flakes made from polyvinyl chloride are used in the following applications:
Vinyl floors
PVC flakes are thermoplastic and can be produced in a variety of forms, with variables such as thickness, size and color varying. The flakes are industrially processed and applied to a 2, 4 or 5 meter wide carrier by means of a spreading unit, after which the layer is optionally provided with a plastisol.
CASTING FLOORS
Color flakes are spread open or full in a primer and possibly finished with a topcoat. Products in which flakes are processed are Methyl methacrylate, Epoxy, Polyurethane, Acrylate, Polyurea, Polyaspartic and Poly-acrylate.
Synthetic floors with flakes are applied by professional processors and by end users (DIY). Flakes are easy to scatter in and – if desired – easy to sand and are lighter in weight than alternative particles.
Vinyl Wallpaper
PVC flakes are sprinkled on a carrier during the production process, possibly in a pattern. If necessary, the flakes are finished with a plastisol topcoat.
PVC MICROSPHERES
Microspheres are round solid particles of PVC that are produced by means of extrusion technology . PVC Microspheres can be mixed together to create special effects. The size, color (including metallic, pearlescent and transparent) and composition of the microspheres are adjustable. PVC microspheres are Phthalates-free.
